Volunteer from home

Blog:

Blogging gives our organization exposure and increases public opinion on issues related to our cause. We encourage you to write any thoughts you migth have about our organization. We also love to read stories of people working in similar issues or with personal experiences to share.
Design Jewelry:

We are always looking for innovative designs for our jewelry-making courses and export business. So if you have a design in mind, send it our way as we woul'd love to reproduce it.
Sell Jewelry:

Assist MuJER in selling the jewelry made by women sex workers in our programs at your local stores and craft fairs.
Fundraise:

Throw a party, show a movie, and you have a fundraiser!. Raising funds is a high priority for MuJER as we are only capable of providing as much programming as there are sufficient funds to do so with. Anything helps, so please feel free to contact us for materials if you are interested in helping us out.
Help Apply for Grants:

Assit MuJER in appluing for grants that will aneble us expand our community center and the programs we provide to our women.
Improve our Website:

Assist us in improving our web site. We are always looking to enhance our site, as it is our sole mode of explaining what we do to the world. We would love to get your feedback or receive your professional assistance in improving our site.

Volunteer in Guatemala

Are you interested in traveling to Guatemala for the summer, a year, or even longer? MuJER seeks volunteers in the following areas:

Literacy Educators:

We are always looking for talented instructors to teach our Spanish literacy, accelerated elementary school, computer, and English courses.
Short-Term Workshop Educators:

Volunteer to teach a special workshop in your own area of expertise. Past examples include beading/jewelry making and yoga/stretching.
Research:

We are looking for volunteers for our Violence Against Women Documentation Project. We are documenting all news reports on acts of violence against women and sex workers in Guatemala City. Our database will be available on-line and accessible to domestic and international agencies and activists.
Representatives:

Volunteer for the November 25th Annual March on the International Day of No Violence Against Women. Be MuJER's representative on the Event's Organizing Committee. Meetings take place throughout October and November.

In addition to the personal fulfillment you will find through volunteering with us, MuJER will provide you with a sense of solidarity, and a community of women who are eager to learn!
